Explore our local bushland as it comes alive after dark! We will look for owls, possums, gliders, wallabies, spiders and frogs!
Whoo whoo! Are you ready Join Council's Environmental Education staff on a night adventure into the forest at Kincumba Mountain?! It will be a hoot!
Many of Australia's animals are nocturnal and the bush really comes to life after dark with sound and movement. We will use our ears and eyes to find wildlife on the ground, in the trees and in the air.
Kincumba Mountain is home to Powerful Owls, Brushtail and Ringtail Possums, Sugar Gliders, Swamp Wallabies, microbats and many species of invertebrates. We never know if we will see these animals on a night walk, but we always enjoy the chance to explore the forest under the stars.
Medium level of fitness required. Walking on undulating track with uneven surface. Please wear suitable clothing and bring a torch (a head torch is best).
Minimum age is 6 years old.
