In an easy step-by-step approach students will be guided to render simple forms confidently and apply a newly gained knowledge of linear perspective to producing a still life painting.
The class will also cover aspects of composition, lighting (value), rendering various surfaces and looking at the work of still life painters through history, but the main focus will be on perspective.
Students will work in monochrome (black and white or one colour).
This class is intended for students with some experience who may have limited training in painting theory or wish to revise their understanding of the principles involved.
Materials to bring:
Oil or acrylic paint (one colour plus white and black or just black and white), flat and round brushes (sizes 8 – 12), white plate to use as palette and roll of paper towel or rags.
