Karen Bloomfield Fine Art
Fine art and artist led workshops
Karen Bloomfield works from little rented studio in the bayside suburb of Wamberal. Having completed her Diploma of Fine Art from the Newcastle Art School at the end of 2014, it is hard to believe this prolific artist began learning her trade at 40.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Bloomfield immigrated to Sydney with her family at the age of 5 and grew up alongside her older sister; the daughters of middle class working parents.
With 2 artworks in the collection of the Australian Embassy in Kabul, Bloomfield (FASMA, ARAS) is one of a select group of Australian artists chosen to represent Australian Art in International Embassies.
Represented in several east coast galleries, Bloomfield has created a brand for herself through two distinctive mediums: Industrial oil paintings on canvas; and Australian Wildlife in charcoal & ink on plywood. Her recent melding of the styles has been termed ‘Reductionist Pop’.
She has art works available through her website, can be contacted for commission pieces and also runs regular artist workshops on the Central Coast.
