The Giving Garden: A Long Table Harvest Lunch

Saturday 9th November 2024, 11am - 3pm SWAMP Market Garden Somersby (972 Wisemans Ferry Road, Somersby)

Pachamama Catering and SWAMP (Sustainable Wetlands Agricultural Makers Project) are proud to be hosting ‘The Giving Garden – A Long Table Harvest Lunch’, featuring a three-course meal, the opportunity to meet our local growers and farmers, experience a garden tour and be entertained with live music by Woodie McClean.

Includes a beautifully styled long table setting with cuisine straight from the SWAMP market garden, coupled with locally sourced produce. Showcasing seasonally harvested goods from a selection of the finest local growers and suppliers on the Central Coast.

Money raised not only goes back into the hands of our local growers and suppliers but also SWAMP, a not-for-profit Community focused social enterprise.

This event is an opportunity to support an organisation who connects our more vulnerable community members with FREE, fresh, organic produce via collaborative organisations, all working to help those in need. To grow and to give.

Swamp also provides community groups and services the opportunity to the learn and experience growing food. SWAMP facilitates educational programs such as the Soil to Plate Program for young people living with disabilities, Foundational Skills for Women at the Glen Rehab and Barayi Community Gardening program at Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Health Services and the installation and activation of community growing spaces across the Central Coast.

We believe that exploring and experiencing local food unites us with the local land and the food growing communities that exist here, creating a sense of place, connection, care and belonging.

Sharing stories is the foundation of community; the essential connections that are created when meeting like-minded local people, tasting the food that has been grown with love and care and hearing about the journeys made.

Inspiring those present to care for and connect to our local natural environment, giving thanks for the abundance of food that it provides, and understanding that ultimately, food connects us all in some way and is medicine for our body and soul.
