Autumn school holidays are a beauti-fall time to explore activities around the Central Coast.
We have created a list of workshops, activities, and events to captivate the kiddies and keep their boredom at bay.
From fairy tale magic and improv classes to family friendly nature experiences and outdoor adventures, there is plenty of activities to try on the Central Coast these autumn school holidays.

Family Fun
Outdoor Movie Nights
Bring the kids, pull out the picnic rug and baskets and enjoy one of the many outdoor movie nights across the coast being run by the Central Coast Council. Enjoy magical and a free family friendly outdoor screening of Happy Feet in April and May at The Entrance, Wyong, Gosford and Toukley.
Velveteen Rabbit
The Velveteen Rabbit tells the story of the unconditional love between a child and toy rabbit, who becomes real. This is a must see for families and anyone who has ever cherished a beloved toy. The story is infused with audience participants, live music and clever projections! Don't forget to bring your own special toy to the play at the Laycock Street Community Theatre.
Inflatable obstacle course
Tuff Nutterz is an energetic day out for all the family! Set in the beautiful Glenworth Valley, Australia's biggest inflatable obstacle course will challenge you as you leap over 300m of inflatable fun! With a course of the little people and a 6m tall slide this is a must for friends and family alike!
Silent cinema
The Davistown RSL's popular silent cinema is back these school holidays with Dragon Rider. Showing in the auditorium, each person will be give a headset to enjoy the immersive experience. The fun starts at 5pm with a dragon tail and mask making workshop before the movie starts at 6.15pm.
Something magic!
Be wowed with JD's World of Magic with stunning illusions, audience participation and see if you can figure out how magician Joel Howelett walks through an sheet of steel! This family friendly show is playing at the Red Tree Theatre in Tuggerah on Tuesday 15 April.

Creative Classes
Improvisation workshop
Palm Tree Studios at Wyoming are holding an improvisational workshop to build confidence and allow your child to think outside the box. While having a lot of fun, the workshop focuses on collaboration, team building, storytelling and thinking on the spot! A great day to learn the magic of improv!
Fairy tale events
Enjoy an enchanted time at Elkie Hollow being pampered, transforming into a magical princess, dancing, playing games and creating take home sparkly craft. There are a range of days offering a glimpse into what a Elkie Hollow party looks like!
Code Camp
Head along to the Central Coast Adventist School for Code Camp and let little minds come alive with science, technology and storytelling. From coding video arcade games, building an animation storyboard, mastering Minecraft and bring Roblox 2D/3D animations to life, there is plenty to focus on while having fun along the way.
Roll up
Roundup Circus has a whole range of workshops and holiday camps for the little kiddies, teens and even the adults! Learn acrobatic arts, aerial skills, circus activities or even magic, there's a little bit of fun (and exercise) for all skill levels, young and old.
Sweet succulents
The little gardeners in your family will love this kids succulent workshops at Burbank House and Garden in Erina. They will choose a cute colourful pot and choose a selection of succulents for the arrangement, afterwards they can take the arrangement home and show off their green finger skills.
Messy workshop
If your little one loves a sensory experience and getting hands on, the Donut Decorating workshop will be a great option. Lake Haven Centre are hosting Messy Makers for a messy workshop during the school holidays its free to attend, pre-bookings are essential.
Hobbies Factory
Make your own diorama with a Hotwheels car or dinosaur at the Hobbies Factory. Learn the skill of painting intricate details and building a scene . All paint and material included.

Sporting adventures
Basketball skills
Advance your kids love of basketball with training programs designed to improve skills and maximise their fun! Taking place at Breakers Indoor Sport Stadium in Terrigal, some of the Central Coast Basketball's top players and coaches will deliver an innovative sports program these April school holidays.
Gymnastics greatness
GEM Gymnastics holiday program is nothing short of fun. Kids will learn new skills like tumbling, parkour and gymnastics, plus play games and even find time to do some craft! Session available morning and afternoons of the April school holidays.
Climbing Trees
Get ready for an action-packed day to test your kids strength and challenge their minds at TreeTops. Experience one (or both) activities from the tree rope course or bounce around in the maze of nets and burn some of the kids school holiday energy. For children aged 3 years and up with adult supervision. Bookings required.
Sailing Tours
Enjoy sailing on a beautiful yacht with someone else at the helm on a sunrise or sunset charter from Lake Macquarie Sailing Tours. Departing from Summerland Point these 3hr tours make for a relaxing day on the water for the whole family. Bookings essential.
Raw Challenge
The kids will enjoy 3.5 hours of epic filled fun at Raw Challenge in Doyalson. Jump, dive, duck and run, over and under obstacles! They will get messy and muddy as they challenge themselves along the course!

Nurturing Nature
Pelican Time
Pelican Time is an Eco-friendly Pelican Educational Experience at The Entrance. In collaboration with Marine Wildlife Rescue Central Coast, Pelican Time is on at 3:30pm every day during the school holidays, plus Saturday and Sundays. It provides fascinating facts about the birds & their environment plus gives you a chance to see these huge birds up close. Hear all about the colonies at The Entrance and Tuggerah Lakes, the work done around protecting them and how you can help keep them and their environment free from dangers. A great and easy to listen to talk for all the family to enjoy.
Aboriginal Cultural Tour
Walk alongside an Aboriginal guide and learn about plants, animals and listen to cultural stories. Calling all junior rangers! Come along on a day of adventure in Brisbane Water National Park or Wyrrabalong National Park.
Pearl Farm
Take the kids to Broken Bay Pearl Farm, the only pearl farm in NSW and let them learn about how the pearls are made and farmed. Better yet, the kids will go free with every full priced adult or senior ticket purchased for these experiences: Farm to Plate, Shell to Showroom and Oyster & Pearl Lovers. Places to stay and play
Stay at Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific opposite Terrigal Beach and enjoy daily kid's school holiday activities at Terrigal Beach House. From face painting, mermaid hair extensions, glitter tattoos and ballon twisting, the kids will love all the fun. On daily between 1-4pm during the April school holidays.
Keep the kids busy while you enjoy your stay at Mercure Kooindah Waters with movie nights, cupcake decorating, pizza making, and craft rooms, the activities promise to entertain. Most of the events are free!
Community activities for the holidays
