The Itinerary

Get wild and chase waterfalls

Start your family adventure across the Coast with a trip to an iconic wildlife park, go chasing waterfalls throughout Somersby and finish the day with an afternoon in Terrigal exploring The Haven and sweet treat from a local icecreamery.

Australian Reptile Park

Get WILD at the zoo

Start your trip around the Central Coast at one of the biggest family attractions on the Coast. Head to the Australian Reptile Park at Somersby and see over 2,000 native and exotic animals. Don’t forget to snap a family photo with the frilled neck lizard at the Park’s entry before heading into the zoo to see their cute and cuddly koalas and kangaroos and get up close to some of Australia’s most venomous creatures in their brand-new exhibit, the Weigel Venom Centre.

Somersby Falls

Chase waterfalls at Somersby

After a morning of getting up close to furry friends, head around the corner to Somersby Falls for a picnic with the family. Surrounded by lush rainforest, take a short walk down to the first viewing platform and take in immaculate views of the top and bottom cascading natural waterfalls. Bring your swimmers and take a dip to cool off before heading to your next stop.

Chocolate & Nougat Factory Gosford

Sugar fix awaits

This stop isn’t just for the kids…the adults will love it to. Drive down Kariong hill and enter the outskirts of Gosford to visit the sweetest place on the Central Coast; Chocolate & Nougat Factory Gosford. Stroll into the shop and be hit by the sweet aroma of decadent chocolate before picking out your favourite chocolates. Can’t find the right one? Create your dream chocolate bar at their Create-A-Bar workshop.

Peninsula Recreation Precinct

Skate through Umina

Once the sugar hits from all the chocolate, you’ll want to head to Umina’s Peninsula Recreation Precinct for the kids to burn off their energy. Decked out with a playground for kids of all ages, the kids will be set for an afternoon of fun with a BMX track, skatepark, bouldering walls and tennis and basketball courts to enjoy.

Terrigal

Sweet treats and strolls

After a day of running about, explore the bustling seaside town of Terrigal. Finish with an easy stroll along Terrigal Boardwalk and soak up the stunning views of Terrigal Beach before heading to Terrigal Beach House for dinner. Visiting Terrigal also wouldn’t be complete without trying to conquer the famous ‘Ice cream Sink’ at Terrigal Ice creamery and will surely be the highlight of the kid’s day!

Where we are

Tee up for a day of adventure

Start your second morning with a delicious brekkie before heading for a hole-lotta-fun at mini golf. Stop by for a classic pub feed for lunch at Chittaway and burn off that energy with a cycle along Long Jetty and swim at Toowoon Bay Beach.

The Tame Fox

Cosy kids café

Wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and head to The Tame Fox. This cosy little café located in Erina is a great pitstop for those parents that want the kids to be happy and their coffee to be drunk while hot. With their fully enclosed playground for the kids to run wild in, and a kid-friendly menu, the kids will be sorted.

Hole In Fun Lisarow

Tee up for a hole-lotta-fun

Tee up for another day of adventure on the Coast, starting at Lisarow’s Hole in Fun. Walk through the doors and enter into a colourful world of mini golf. Verse the kids to either 9 or 18 hole mini golf, with each course offering different challenges along the way. Got an advanced golfer on your hands? The golf simulator will be perfect for them to practice their swing in safety.

Chittaway Bay Tavern

Classic pub feed in Chittaway

After a morning of putting about at Hole in Fun, we’re sure the kids have worked up quite the appetite. Book a table at Chittaway Bay Tavern for lunch and grab their mouth-watering pizzas to share with the kids.  While you’re waiting for your food, let the kids loose in the tavern’s playground and have a well-deserved drink together with your friends and family.

Long Jetty Foreshore

Cycle along Long Jetty foreshore

Bring the bikes with you on your trip to the Coast and cycle along the Long Jetty foreshore. Visit the three jetties along the route and stop at the Long Jetty that gave this funky burb its name. There’s plenty of stops along the way to admire the view of Tuggerah Lake and spot the local black swans, pelicans and ducks that call the lake home.

Toowoon Bay Beach

Swoon over Toowoon Bay

Tour over to the next suburb, Toowoon Bay, and take a dip at Toowoon Bay Beach for an afternoon cool off. Patrolled from September to April, it’s a great spot to take the kiddies. Plus, it’s fantastic for snorkelling so don’t forget to pack the goggles, flippers and sunscreen of course on your trip to the Coast.

Cue & Crew

Mouth-watering American BBQ

Finish off the evening with an even better deal. Stop by Cue and Crew at Tuggerah on a Wednesday or Thursday night and grab a free feed for the kiddies with every full-paying adult. When you’re saving money on the kids meal, you’ll feel less guilty about splurging on their mouth-watering BBQ ribs and brisket.

Where we are

Meet and greet the locals

Finish your last day on the Coast by meeting the locals, from alpacas to pelicans. Cycle or walk along a new pathway and end up at the town of Norah Head and snap a shot in front of the lighthouse. End the night with a friendly game of family competition.

Iris Lodge Alpacas

Meet and greet adorable alpacas

Head out to the rolling hills of the Hinterland first thing in the morning and visit Iris Lodge Alpacas. Book their farm-to-table brunch and meet and greet their friendly alpacas, llamas and sheep. Bring along a fresh bunch of bananas and carrots for Billy their resident alpaca and snap a selfie with him before meeting the others.

Magenta Shared Pathway

Cycle to see the lighthouse

A trip to the Central Coast wouldn’t be complete without visiting the region’s ‘Big Thing’ – Norah Head Lighthouse! Travel to the town of Norah Head, accessible by the new Magenta Shared Pathway if you’ve got enough time up your sleeve for a leisurely cycle. Visit the Coast’s only lighthouse and see the immaculate strip of coastline. After a morning of frolicking with the alpacas and cycling, make your way to The Entrance for more up-close animal encounters.

Pelican Time

It's Pelican Time

With a name like the Central Coast, it’s no wonder that our region is filled to the brim with marine wildlife, just like the pelicans! Catch Pelican Time at The Entrance every Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and school holidays at 3:30pm. See these huge birds up close and listen to the free educational talk and learn about this stunning waterside bird that calls The Entrance and surrounds home.

Ready’s at the Doylo

Friendly competition

Finish off your last day touring around the Central Coast by heading further north to Ready’s at The Doyalson RSL Club after Pelican Time. If the kids are absolute sport fanatics, they’ll love this place. Challenge the kids to a round of golf, cricket, baseball and tennis, or book a spot at the virtual F1 race car simulator to see who will cross the finish line first. After the kids have worked up their appetite, indulge in their all-American menu featuring hot dogs, mouth-watering burgers and loaded fries.
