The NSW Central Coast is a multi-award winning Australian ECO Destination, certified since 2022. As a guest, the best way to feel this is touring the region's champion ECO Certified and sustainable experiences! Take on all activities as an epic 4-day eco tour, or visit each season and pick which day to tick off... From alpaca to oyster farms, digital shipwreck tours to real-life whales, and canopy obstacle courses to 3-course luxury garden-fresh dining. THIS itinerary guides you on the ultimate sustainable journey across the Central Coast.

Photo opportunity: Capture a Humpback whale breaching with Terrigal Ocean Tours, or shuck your first oyster immersed in waders in the river, or perhaps a selfie with one of Iris Lodge's friendly alpacas? We hear Billy is a poser.

Travel tip: As this itinerary is an inspirational guide only, ensure the best experience by checking ahead of your visit to confirm businesses are open and book in advance. All featured experiences are either ECO Certified with Ecotourism Australia, or currently in application stages.

The Itinerary

Hint of the Hinterland

There's a whole side of the Central Coast west of the M1 waiting to be discovered - The Hinterland. Here lie some incredible experiences in nature, featuring sustainable forests and wetlands, four wheel adventure, treetop canopies, ancient tree museums, hungry alpacas and NSW's only pearl farm.

Before your adventure

Be a sustainable guest

We ask respectfully for all those who tread from headland to hinterland in our region to explore responsibly by observing some simple ‘house’ rules. Just like you wouldn't walk into a friend's home with muddy shoes or leave rubbish behind, we've got the no-brainer Central Coast Sustainability Pledge to embrace to leave our beautiful region as you found it...
