Fresh Find #2 - New places to eat & drink
Speakeasy with Jerry Sent Me
This is hot off the press, and we can’t wait for you to pop into this new must-visit establishment! Keep warm this winter with Wyong’s newest speakeasy bar. Set inside the historic Chapman Building and owned by talented local bartender Johnny, Jerry Sent Me is a beautifully renovated venue with vintage feels which is very much in keeping with the heritage building. Try their chic cocktails while nibbling on a share platter in front of the roaring log fire or admire the beautifully crafted antique bar from the comfort of huge leather armchairs positioned under the subtle lighting while sipping on a single malt whiskey. Book a table for lunch and dinner, and don't forget to try the huge variety of international spirits and wine to adorn your tastebuds! This ultra-cool venue will keep you toasty and give you a new appreciation for cosy burgeoning bars.
Fresh Find #3 - New maker & creator to explore
CLINQ
When it comes to unique and detail obsessed barware and wine accessories you really can’t look past local designer Lucy Holland. The former rocket scientist is the founder and design guru of CLINQ and the self-confessed social butterfly with a passion for wine and design was how CLINQ come about. Her boutique designs are made to inspire occasions and create memories which she holds close to her heart.
The stunning range boasts attention to detail and quality making them a real showstopper. Why not host a winter dinner party with friends and serve your Margaritas in stunning hammered copper stemless glasses and witness the wonderful glow that appears when they catch the light adding to your sophisticated dining experience. Or sit around the outdoor fire pit with a rich red wine in elegant aerating wine glasses. No matter how you serve your drinks, they'll be a winner (which coincidently as Rachel points out, is a blend of dinner and wine!) With more than just glasses, there really is something for everyone to appreciate. From brass and leather cheese knives to cooper cocktail sets and hip flasks to marble ice buckets, if you need a special gift or want to treat yourself, then you have found the right place.
Clinq also offer wholesale and stock their items in wide range of venues from bars, restaurants and wineries to name a few.
Fresh Find #4 - New places to stay
Cosy Coastal Cottage
Just because the Central Coast is known for its summer time vibes, doesn’t mean you should bypass the Coast this winter. We’ve found a luxurious Hampton’s beach front cottage that makes the perfect wintry getaway. Cosy up for the weekend in Patonga in a lovingly renovated 2-bedroom holiday rental called The Pines. You'll forget about those winter blues and chilly evenings when you sink yourself into the luxurious cedar hot tub and unwind in the outdoor cedar sauna. With oak flooring throughout, a free-standing stone bath, indoor fireplace and panoramic views of the ocean, it will be hard to leave this little gem.
Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, the seaside hamlet of Patonga has everything you need for a tranquil stay. Take an early morning stroll along the beach and keep a look out to sea because you may spot a Humpback whale or two on their migration. Stop by The Boathouse Hotel to fuel your body with a nurishing breaky and hot coffee. Grab your walking boots and hike the walking trails of the Great North Walk or take a cruise along the mighty Hawkesbury with Heritage Ventures to hear all about the region’s rich history. Be back in time to watch the sunset over the bay as you reflect on the magic of the Central Coast during the cooler months.
