Dog friendly accommodation on the Central Coast

A family holiday is about spending time together and that includes your four-legged friend. Don’t let those puppy eyes fill you with dread when you leave your pup, why not take them with you? With a car ride only 90 minutes from Sydney, there’s no better way than to pack your car with your four legged best friend and take the scenic route to this slice of paradise.

From beachside retreats, coastal caravan sites to hinterland hideaways, we’ve rounded up some ‘su-paw’ dog friendly stays that you will love as much as your pooch will.

Pearl Beach Shack, Pearl Beach

Settle into the beachside suburb of Pearl Beach in a stunning Hamptons inspired home. Pearl Beach Shack, is a fully fenced property so your pup will be safe and secure in his holiday home. The house includes top of the range appliances, open plan living, 3 bedrooms and a large undercover deck overlooking the grassy lawn.

Stroll down to the beach, dogs are allowed off leash at the far end of the northern end of the stunning little beach. On the way back, pop into Amalfi, Pearl Beach’s absolute waterfront dining experience. Bring your pooch to be admired as you sit on the deck under the shade of yellow and white striped umbrellas taking in the sparkling view of the bay.  

Breakfast Creek House, Spencer

Nestled in a valley with three sides surrounded by the Dharug Narional Park is a 60 acre property in the picturesque village of Spencer. Breakfast Creek House is a renovated 1918 farmhouse with spectacular views over the valley featuring three bedrooms, two separate living and two bathrooms. There is a separate farm one bedroom farm cottage too and a heated outdoor pool. While you relax in secluded splendour, so can your well behaved pooch. A perfect place for long walkies and the great outdoors.  

Lakeside, Macmasters Beach

At the edge of Boudddi National is a chic airy Lakeside at Macmasters Beach coastal holiday rental within an easy walk of MacMasters and Copacabana beaches. Situated directly opposite Cockrone Lagoon, fur babies are very welcome to sniff and run around the spacious back yard of this stylish four bedroom family friendly home. Take your pup for walkies one the beach with the southern end of Copacabana Beach to Macmasters Beach being dedicated off leash areas. There are also plenty of dog friendly cafes in the area including the elevated Macs Beach Café with plenty of space for your sandy footed pup and The Bee Knees where four legged customers are always warmly welcomed with lots of fuss and cuddles.

Scenic Heights, Terrigal 

Set high above Terrigal, Scenic Heights is a bedroom light and airy holiday home finished in a modern chic interior. Your pup will love running around the fully secured gardens while you relax on the sun drenched deck or soak in the spa. Take a stroll down to the Haven and let you pup run in the designated doggie area to meet the locals. Pop your pup back on the leash and walk along the iconic boardwalk spanning over the ocean to Terrigal Beach. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at the beachside café Bellyfish where local produce is used daily in their mouth watering dishes and doggies will love their puppuchino too!

JoeAnne Blue Bay, Blue Bay

Located right on Blue Bay Beach, JoeAnne is absolute beachside where you and your four legged friend will feel the holiday vibes. With a fenced in back yard and a deck overlooking the beach, this family friendly holiday rental is home away from home. Walk to the nearby shops stopping at Blue Zephyr with their big veranda ideal for accommodating pets while you enjoy a relaxing coffee, breakfast, brunch or a sweet treat, baked on site.  

Toowoon Bay Holiday Park, Toowoon Bay

With easy access to Toowoon Bay Beach a short drive to The Entrance, With accommodation types to suit everyone, from caravan and camping to spacious oceanfront Beachside cabins. While Toowoon Bay Beach isn’t an off leash beach, a little further up at Shelly Beach North is an off leash beach, pawfect for your fur baby to play.

Ocean Beach Resort, Umina Beach

The popular beachside Ocean Beach Resort recognises that dogs are part of a family holiday and welcome your pooch on powered ensuite sites outside of peak holiday periods. Located next to Umina Beach, the dog friendly beach is the pooch playground.  Both the north and south end of Umina Beach is off leash and locals alike walk their pups daily along these shores. For quality healthy food and coffee look no further than Jasmine Greens Park Café  that is ideally located at the entrance to the holiday park next to the newly upgraded Peninsula Recreation Precinct fully equipped with a BMX track, skatepark, basketball, tennis and futsal courts, flying fox, under 5 playground and more! On the third Sunday of each month the bustling Umina Beach Markets is in this area too, where dogs are very welcome too and may even find a market stall just for them selling adorable collars and doggie treats.
